Greetings my friends! This Substack domain will be used to share writings and photography from or related to a book I have been dancing into being called Living Eternity in Time.
I may catch you up with previously written insights that I feel are timelessly emergent and relevant. I will also share what is coming through anew.
May this writing come from and speak to the place of awareness that it describes. May ocean be felt through its waves, and wonder be inspired through what may challenge.
Please, if you feel inspired, add to our collective digesting, integrating, deepening and visioning by commenting and dialoguing with me and each other.
Some of my earlier writing, mostly from the early 2000’s, can be found here: www.sunyalila.com
Bio:
Essentially, as expressed in the “about” section here:
Ellen Davis, aka sunyalila (play of emptiness); lover of this. Unveiling and reflecting back wholeness, walking in beauty and cocreating new pathways for love to come to know itself, Ellen is an evolutionary wisdom teacher and doula of the emergent.
Here is a more extensive bio that shares about my background and the vehicles through which I express or have expressed all of that:
Former Ford Foundation scholarship student at the School of American Ballet in NYC and dancer with the Stuttgart Ballet Company, Ellen Davis has been teaching classical ballet internationally for over 45 years, including at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, in Puducherry, India. She has also been the artistic director of several profesional ballet and performing arts academies. In 1977 Ellen founded “Yoga of Ballet”, classical ballet taught with a mindful, holistic, soulful, living yoga approach that can be extended to all of life.
Ellen is currently also a yoga instructor and the archivist and manager of the estate of her late mother, artist Channa Horwitz. As a longtime collaborator with Horwitz she continues to choreograph, direct and oversee performances internationally in conjunction with her mother’s work.
Ellen’s expression in our world includes being a transformational mediator/coach, facilitating living yoga and leading meditations and self-inquiry.
She is interested in co-creating with community, cultures of care and safety, where our inter subjective and inter-objective sense of interbeing expands, and inspiration and the divine creative will can effloresce from the unknown and fertile Silence in ever less impeded, trauma-informed ways.
Ellen loves photography and writes about the creative process and new paradigm teaching and learning approaches. It is her joy to share in the delight and embrace of this present moment and facilitate love and awareness waking up to itself at individual and collective levels.

I would love to know more about "As a longtime collaborator with Horwitz she continues to choreograph, direct and oversee performances internationally in conjunction with her mother’s work." -- We may have some opportunities bubbling in Cairo and would be great to have dance be part of it.. and we are aiming for cross-cultural, interfaith, innovation and artivism, etc.
